Oh To Be Wise Meditations

I heard this recently and I loved it. Salvation should not yield transformation in our lives. How shall we live? We have been forgiven so much and live in so much grace overflowing. Where sin abounds there grace abounds even more. But that grace is there for us to come up out of our sins. And that before something worse happens to us. Sin and death work together to destroy lives in this world. The grace that God offers is key to our redemption and victory for our transgressions. You and I have done some stupid things that we need grace on. But why do we need grace? Is is just for our own satisfaction and pride? Or should it be for our transformational, learning from our mistakes and becoming a better person. So many people have been forgiven of the most messiest of situations and have no remorse. Continuing the way they were without any repentance at all. We need godly sorrow that brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. We are to be transformed by the power of the Gospel in us. We were saved so we can have the opportunity of being fully transformed into Image of Christ by the power of his love! Salvation and transformation go together. If you separate them Gospel loses its value. The message becomes watered down as grace is abused and salvation means little to the hardened hearts of sin. What a travesty to have access the transforming power of God and waste it in sin and freedom. Its time we live and walk in the Spirit, and experience even now the joy of our salvation.
