Oh To Be Wise Meditations
You quickly find out as you spiritual mature that Jesus did not come to solve all our problems. They said of Him He healed and saved others but could not save Himself. Jesus actually joined himself to our tragic fate as human beings and died along with us. The Gospel is a story about a God that absolutely loves His world and is committed to His Creation. He loves human beings that are totally compromised by evil. Whatever its going to mean to follow Jesus, its clear that its not the key to success in your life or the key to all our problems being solved. There will be moments of joy and happiness as well as moments of tragedy and struggle. To follow Jesus is more than earthly gain or prestige. It is a meaning to life we will only understand in persistent relationship with Him. And even then I believe it will take all eternity to understand the length the width and the height of God's love in Christ Jesus our Lord.
