Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Woke up this morning to a world that is falling apart morally. Social structures are being torn down and people are hurting because of sin and death. We are living in times where hungry souls are looking for meaningful fruit, but cannot find any that is good. God is like these hungry souls. He enters our vineyard, our world hoping to gather fruit to eat after a main harvest of blessings He has provided. But he finds no righteous men and women. People are no longer loyal, no longer honest, even waiting to kill and extort there neighbor. Powerful people declare what they want with absolute authority. They make plans with the intent of evil. Judges accept money to cheat in court. Important leaders do not make fair decisions. They do whatever that want, even the best of leaders are cruel and terrible. Governments look for answers to these problems and they have many political solutions. They have decided that they don't need God. They refuse to obey his laws and think they can do better than Him. Everywhere in society we see the results of their philosophy. It is causing fear and confusion in every town, every city, and every state. When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power people groan. Those who trust in the Lord know God will come back to us. Even after finding no fruit and He will comfort us again. He will completely overcome the power of sin in our world. When God forgives His People, their sin will be like dust under his feet. Yes, our sin will be like something thrown into the deep sea. God forgives people for the wrong things they do, but the Lord does not forget to punish guilty people. If we want God to forgive us, we must invite Jesus into our lives. It's not enough to say your sorry. You must confess your sins to God and ask for forgiveness, claiming the death of Jesus as redemption. The Cross is the only remedy for sin it's suffering. Let us live forgiven and pray for healing in our land. Pray for righteous leaders to rise up and lead wayward souls to reconciliation with God in Christ.
