Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Jesus, I read an octopus has three hearts, nine brains, and blue blood running through a delicate circulatory system. If they lose one of there arms it actually will grow back. What an amazing creation by your hands Lord! You have created so many interesting creatures that can do so much more physically than we can. Yet it is the human race that you gave dominion on this earth. God did not put the future world under the power of angels. You made man just alittle lower than the angels of heaven, crowning them with glory and honor. You have put everything under our power!" God has put everything under our power and has not left anything out of our power. But we still don't see it all under our control. That is because we are weakling humans that are subject to the curse of death. Our world is confused, condemned to lose its purpose, not of its own will but because God willed it to be so. Creations moans and groans like the pain of childbirth, wanting to discover truth from from afar off galaxy or planet. Is there life somewhere out in the cosmos? God has done this because the future of this world belongs to the children of God! Yes, the very weaklings that are under the curse of death will be revealed as the true sons and daughters of the Kingdom of God on earth. What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. Though this world is in chaos and out of our control, God became man to lead mankind into a new creation and life. What we do see now is Jesus, who for a little while was made lower than the angels. Because of God's gift of undeserved grace, Jesus died for everyone. And now that Jesus has suffered and died, he is crowned with glory and honor! Everything belongs to God, and all things were created by his power. So God did the right thing when he made Jesus perfect by suffering, as Jesus led many of God's children to be saved and to share in his glory. Jesus and the people he makes holy all belong to the same family. This is why he isn't ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. We have a holy calling to live out in this futile world. The world is suffering in slavery and decay, we must allow God to use to reveal his glorious plan! We may not have many hearts or many hands like the octopus. But together as one body in Christ we are the most unique creation God has made. We are the present and soon to be revealed over all the earth children of God!
