Oh To Be Wise Meditations

When animals hibernate it is a response to the weather and availability of food. They have reached a point where they cannot eat enough food to sustain their body temperature. God has created a state of reduced metabolic activity so certain animals can adapt to the environment. It is critical for them to hibernate and survive in this sinful world. Energy stored for the rough days of life on earth is the animals purpose for hibernating. I can't help but think we as children of God need to spend time resting in Him for strength for the day. We think because all our physical needs have been met that we can handle all adversity. But young people will grow tired, even strong men will fall in exhaustion. The heart goes faint and the minds gets weak from day to day trials. We need strength for the inner man that only God can provide. Only Jesus can refresh the weary soul and replenish all who you are weak. You know, hibernating leaves many animals weak and defenseless to predators. They are vunerable in there state of rest trusting in God to supply all there needs. Jesus says,  Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns--and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Put on your new self on which is being renewed in the knowledge and image of our Creator. Find rest in personal alone time with Jesus and slow down the day. Save time for Him restore your soul! Lets not hibernate though to the point where we give up on life. Rest for the journey and not for foolish living. We need Holy Spirit to come and give us true spirit and life. Rest up for the journey of life, God will see us through. Meditate Ps. 73:26
