Oh To Be Wise Meditations
There is power in the Good News! The Gospel is God's powerful way of saving all people who have faith. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I must not set aside the grace of God. For if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing. Oh the power of his restraining grace in our lives. If it was not for grace we would have given into our flesh and the evil pursuits of this world. No amount of self righteousness could keep us on the straight and narrow. Only a personal relationship with Jesus would give you the Grace to overcome this world. If it were not for grace we all would go our own way. Doing what we want to do, allowing our filthy thoughts to influence us to do shameful things with our bodies. We would give up the truth about God for a lie and worship the things God has created instead of Him. Without the Gospel power we would refuse to even think about God, leaving our minds to be useless ruling over us. Allowing all sorts of indecent things that are evil, wicked, and greedy to mold us into the world. Without the restraining grace of God we would want what others have. Murder, argue, and cheat to gain the world. Gossip and say cruel things about others and hate God. Be proud, conceited, and boastful, always thinking up new ways to do evil. Acting stupid, unreliable, and not having any love or pity for others. The sad thing we would keep on doing evil things and encourage others to do them. Even though we know God has said that anyone who acts in this way deserves to die. The Gospel is keeping us from destroying ourselves and our world. Faith in Christ is a real thing, its not a blind belief. Jesus changes lives one prayer, one bible study, one worship service, one good deed at a time. The people God accepts because of their faith will live abundantly.
