Oh To Be Wise Meditations

I am falling asleep. My eyes are heavy and my head is constantly dropping. Consider me, and hear me Lord. Enlighten my eyes so that they do not become accustomed to the darkness of this world. As the bridegroom is delayed, let me not become drowsy and sleep away my life. I must stay awake in spirit and realize the urgent need to seek after Jesus. For the grace of God has appeared, showing us how kind he is by coming to save all people. He taught us to give up our wicked ways and our worldly desires and to live decent and honest lives in this world. We are filled with hope, as we wait for the glorious return of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. He gave himself to rescue us from everything that is evil and to make our hearts pure. He wanted us to be his own people and to be eager to do right. Jesus, I need your word in me so I can live it out in the flesh. Let me not fall asleep in sin but stay awake to read your word. I see people asleep everyday, living a dead life eating up all the fruit they bear for themselves. I want to hear the Gospel of Christ and live it out to its purest form. The world says they are awake because there eyes have been opened to the knowledge of good and evil. But I close my eyes in prayer asking God that when I open my eyes again, I would have the eyes of the righteous. Those who have had there eyes cleansed by the salve and mud of Jesus. Let me see you Lord, and everything you stand for. Meditate Luke 12:35
