Oh To Be Wise Meditations

The LORD God made all kinds of trees to grow out of the ground, trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden was the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Its in the heart of every human to chose the tree in the midst of the garden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Even though there are plenty of good trees to chose from, the lust of the flesh will never be satisfied. Mankind will always want what they can't have. They want what is better even if what they have is holy righteous and good. There is lust of the eyes of what people see and want. The fruit of sin is addictingly pleasing to the eyes of man's heart. Just one taste of desire can ruin your whole life. Death and the grave are never satisfied, so the eyes of man are never satisfied. Everything in this world that people are so proud of, like their possessions and status in life. Keeps them in bondage to sin and death, protecting this tree of knowledge of good and evil because of their blind pride. The freedom to eat from this tree is killing mankind. All the others trees God has provided for us we cannot rightfully chose because of sin. Praise the Lord that he has satisfied the soul of every human through pure desire of Holy Spirit. Think about this, with the Spirit of Christ in us we can be released from this desire for forbidden fruit. God removed the tree of life after Adam's sin so that man would not live forever in this fallen state. God placed a sword-wielding cherub at the entrance to the garden specifically to guard the way to the tree of life. Eternal life was lost and man was left with a tree of death.Throughout the history of mankind, the knowledge of good and evil has sprung up many trees that lead to destruction. It is an act of mercy that God kepted us from the tree of life. By barring access to the tree of life, God showed compassion in His omniscience. Knowing that, because of sin, earthly life would be filled with sorrow and toil, God graciously limited the number of years men would live. To live eternally in a sinful state would mean endless agony for humanity, with no hope of the relief that comes with death. By limiting our lifespan, God gives us enough time to come to know Him and His provision for eternal life through Christ but spares us the misery of an endless existence in a sinful condition. Eden is restored in our hearts because access to the tree of life is reinstated through Christ. Of all the evil desires available in this world, Jesus calls us to his one holy desire. And that is to know him and his righteousness. He is saying to the hearts of humans to come and taste to see the Lord is good. Jesus has fruit that leads to eternal life. Of all the trees in the world come to the Cross and find real fruit. A supernatural taste that overpowers all the evil lusts of the world. What an amazing feat the Cross and the ressurection is! We are filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Meditate Prov. 12:28
