Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Lord you have given me a home to live in. A roof over my head for protection of the elements. You have given me peace from all my enemies, laying my head at night to rest from the day's trouble. I think to myself at night before bed, how it is possible for many to live in brick and wood houses while you Lord live in the pages of a dusty old book. I am living safely in my house will you dwell in the shelf of my forgotten library. How terrible for him who builds his house without righteousness! Such a great salvation we have and many of us have forgotten to build the temple of God in ourselves. The Holy Spirit is given to us as a deposit of eternal life to come. Yet we have not begun to allow Christ to make his home in us. Jesus needs to remodel your whole house, body and soul. Its time we redeem the time and let God change our lives. I need to go grab my Bible and start building my life in spirit and truth. The Lord deserves the throne in my life, I must let him destroy all my idols and repair the walls that sin has broken down. Woe to him who uses the Gospel dishonestly and makes wealth for his house to place their nest on high, to escape from the reach of disaster! For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. We have planned disgrace for ourselves if we just want a get out of hell free card. The very stones in the walls of our hearts will cry out against you, and the beams in the ceilings echo the complaint. What was supposed to a temple for the Lord Jesus to dwell in us, is a sinfilled dump of an apartment. Where we rent out space to any evil spirit and desire. While the Gospel is left outside the door of our hearts and mind. Jesus, come home and sup with me. I give you ownership of my life so that Holy Spirit can make a mansion in me. Meditate 2 Sam. 7:1-2
