Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Don't listen to your heart when the enemy, when flesh is calling for you. There is nothing else you can do when a painful whisper becomes an overbearing shout to the heart. Hooking the soul with iniquity and guilt, caught in its consequences of sin and death. For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment of God, deceived me, and through it killed me. The heart grows so callous that you can hardly hear the voice of reason within us until its too late. The eyes of the heart barely see the grace of God that is waiting there to receive us. It is what comes from inside that defiles you. For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you. We must allow the Lord Jesus through personal relationship to search the heart and examine the mind. He is the one who makes sure you get what you deserve. He gives to every person according to his ways and what his actions deserve. All of our thoughts are known to God. He can understand what is in the mind of the Spirit, as the Spirit prays for God's people. The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Though many know God, they do not give him the honor that belongs to him, nor do they thank him. Instead, their thoughts have become complete nonsense, and their empty minds are filled with darkness. They are of the world. That is why they speak from the world’s perspective, and the world listens to them. But the people of God listen to the voice of Jesus. It speaks loud from the living word and into our hearts and minds. God called us in these last days to listen to His Son Jesus Christ and not to your heart. Chose the word of God over your heart that is bent towards the flesh and its lust. Jesus knows our propensity to sin, and for this reason he was born and has come into this world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to his voice.
