Oh To Wise Meditations
Nobody wants to die but we can't live like this forever. All the things that sin and death take away from people, naked you came from your mothers womb and naked we depart. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. Wealth is not forever. Nor does a crown last from one generation to the next. Our healh is not forever, one day we are strong and the next day we are weak. The more we hold on to this life the more harder it is to surrender to Christ. Jesus came into our sinful world as pure as a lamb. He did not deserve to suffer and die the way he did. He was innocent and willingly chose to accept punishment for the sins of the world, the iniquity of each person. Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces much fruit. Jesus has produced the abundant fruit of eternal life for all who believe in him. For this reason we can have faith like the apostle Paul and say, to live is Christ and to die is gain! We are hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. We live in these earthly vessels with the presence of God in us. We are living miracles that though tainted with sin, can still overcome evil with good. Living a life of peace and joy even in the face of suffering and pain. Only by the Grace of God in Christ can we understand this: Everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?
