Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Sin starts like a paper cut to your heart. A silent slice that enters the mind and thoughts begin to get thwarted. Alittle whisper here and a cheap moment there begins to add up. The tiny paper cut becomes a gaping whole in heart and it begins to consume everything we love, most importantly our time. Like a black hole sinful desires sucks everything good out of our lives. We become like spiritual cowards running away when no one is chasing us. Integrity is compromised and in shame we distance ourselves from the ones we love. We all are people that are unfaithful to God! Don't you know if you love the world, you are God's enemies? And if you decide to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. The Spirit of Christ inside us will not share its presence with evil. We have to choose everyday whom we will serve. Evil desires masquerade like good desires but take you places you don't want to go. Stop loving the world and the things that are in the world. If anyone persists in loving the world, the Father's love is not in him. We need the Father's Love available to us through Christ. He will bind up our wounds and heal our desires. We need a holy cleansing of his word daily so renewing can take place. Sin is just a papercut away, but righteousness and grace is available as well. Lord, help us to guard our hearts. And if sinful desire comes in, give us the strength to run to you in prayer. Meditate 1 John 3:9
