Oh To Be Wise Meditations

God erases our sins and forgets it. He is the God who forgives your sins, and does this because of who He is. He will not hold your sins against you. Blotting out your transgressions for his own sake and remembers your sins no more. Rather than treating us as our sins deserve, God removes our sins from us “as far as the east is from the west", an immeasurable distance. Sin has no say in our standing with God. We are fully accepted and declared righteous in Jesus. God does not remember our sins in the way He treats us. Instead, He treats us as righteous. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. In this way, God forgets our sins. Even though we sin we know that He is faithful to forgive us. God cleanses, and then He moves on. He does not hold our sins over us. Instead, He frees us from the slavery of sin and sets us free to experience a new life. A life of redemption and wonder, knowing the complete forgiveness of God in Christ.

He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, He is pleased when the wicked turn from their ways and live. Repent and live! We are no longer judged by our sins and are free to live life in a way that pleases God. When we fear judgment, ironically, we are tempted to sin even more, because we want to escape from the fear of judgment, and sin is often pleasurable for a time. Eventually, the fear of judgment returns and this vicious cycle continues. If we want spiritual growth it requires that we recognize the total forgiveness that exists in Jesus Christ. It's time we receive that rest found in forgiveness, for our redemption is totally dependent on grace. Meditate Micah 7:18
