Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Mismanagement. If someone does not know how to control their own families, how can they look after God's people? This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways. Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and rebuild my house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says the LORD. You hoped for rich harvests, but they were poor. And when you brought your harvest home, I blew it away. Why? Because my house lies in ruins, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, while all of you are busy building your own fine houses. Therefore, on account of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth has withheld its crops. And so, at my command everything will become barren--your farmland and pastures, your vineyards and olive trees, your animals and you yourselves. All your hard work will be for nothing. Lord, its time I manage properly the ways of my household, the ways of my labor and the ways of the Lord's work. I have made others rich and myself poor in spirit. Everything that I have selfishly gained God will blow away because of my mismanagement. To God the environment your living in is more important than the sum product of your present life. He cannot and will not leave you comfortable in your sins. He has not treated us as we deserve for our sins or paid us back for our wrongs. Even the wicked experience hardship and trial in hopes they will look to God for relief. The Lord will stop growth where there is no management. May He stir our spirits to first before anything else rebuild and properly managing his temple. You are God’s temple and His Spirit dwells in you.
