Proverbs of a 37 yr old man

I see a huge ship sailing on the high seas. I smell the salt water as it splashes wildly onto the ships deck. Now listen quietly. Hear the raw power as the ship creeks making a wide turn in the opposite direction. It's amazing how these large structures turn majestically even in such heavy and coarse waters. To think, what helps these large ships turn is the smallest of instruments called the rudder. It takes strong winds to move a large sailing ship, but the captain uses only a small rudder to make it go in any direction. Repentance is just as a hard of a turn in the right direction. Notice the biggest turns in our lives are powered by just a rudderful amount of faith. Just as a small part turns a whole ship around, so does just a little bit of faith turn a whole life around for good. Faith is like a small rudder, and with an about turn called repentance, a whole mind and body can go from sin and death to spirit and life. Its time we believe in God and take him at his word. It is strong enough to remove burdens and shackles that have anchored us from moving towards real change and victory. Now this is not about having enough faith for true repentance. No, it's about realizing what just a little bit of faith can do. Your life may be crashing in rough seas, take a moment to smell the salt water blowing on your heart and mind. Let it splash over you and bring you to your senses. Go ahead and make that sharp turn towards repentance to Jesus, and don't worry about the heavy burdens and trials weighing you down. Faith is a gift from God through Jesus, and just a small amount of it can get you in the right direction. Oh how majestic is the way of a ship at sea. And oh how wonderful is the way of repentance to God in Christ.
