Proverbs of a 37 yr old man

Look at what we have become. This was posed as a question before the people of God in the book of Judges. Every one did what was right in their own eyes at that time in Israel. Gods word was an afterthought, becoming just religious in nature. It is possible to something religiously over time and God not be in it. Check your heart, will, and emotions if you are still living in Gods purposes for your life. The story of the dismembered concubine in Israel at the time was meant to show the people how far they had strayed from Gods law and direction. They started micro managing Gods word and their hearts became divided in sin. Instead of simple obedience and learning about the wonderful plan of salvation God was revealing through the temple. They could not tell the difference from the left hand and the right. Moral peace with God is better than trying to please all people in society. We are the better for it, and our nation is the better for it. Even better to ask, is what have I become? Can I take a honest look at my life without blaming God for everything? Can I see where I am lining up with Gods word and where I am not? Sadly, Israel's problems with morality in the book of Judges is the worlds problem as a whole. One generation after another, has to learn lessons from the past. If not, look at what we have become will be too late of a question. What we have feared has come upon us. We have become what we had always feared and tried to avoid. Its like saying ten years ago I hope to be successful and not be miserable, broke, and pitiful in tears. 20 years pass by and you are literally wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. You have become what you feared. Without Jesus, You claimed to be rich and successful and to have everything you need. But you don't know how bad off you really are. You are pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. You need God in your life so that you can become better than what you always dreamed. You become what God called you to be which is better than idea you came up with. Your ultimate success will be a life transformed into the image of Jesus Christ.
