Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. How will I put others ahead of myself today. This is fleshly awkward and against our human nature. Should you allow people to walk over you and take advantage of you? Let people make a fool out of you, and at your expense others are made better for it? Jesus endured the shame of the Cross, and so we must bear His name in a world that does not fully understand Gods existence. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world. The key to submission is submitting to Christ and his will for your life first. Then everything else will follow and submission to one another will be more meaningful. Able to deal with selfish and evil people easier because you are operating from the Spirit of Christ and not your flesh. Righteousness is a supernatural growth we are called to. I will admit that out in the world, and among-st unbelievers submission is easier said than done. Selflessness needs to start early in the home so that we can face the challenges of an evil world. In our families though, God wants His people to submit to one another in love. Having respect and humility towards members of our family. Treating one another how we would like to be treated, a real servant of God that honors the Living Word in there hearts. My friends, you were chosen to be free. So don't use your freedom as an excuse to do anything you want. Use it as an opportunity to serve each other with love. How easily we forget that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Hold on to your freedom and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again to your old way of thinking. What a great opportunity God has put before us to love our families with the Love of Christ. To be able to have that special spiritual relationship with flesh and blood is our training ground. How can we love the unbeliever if we can't even submit to one another in the home. Invite Jesus into your home and watch Him transform every member of your family through His love.
