Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Oh Lord to see you stand up from your throne in my direction. The glory and splendor of just one peek into the beauty of your holiness. David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared: "'The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet."'Since David himself called the Messiah ‘my Lord,’ how can the Messiah be his son?” The large crowd listened to him with great delight. What a sight to see when Jesus was taken into heaven after his resurrection. He is in heaven's throne and I see Him high and lifted up. Jesus said, “ I Am . And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.” Praise God soon and very soon Jesus is coming. But He is seated now at God's right hand holding all things together. The LORD's eyes go to and fro around the earth looking for people so He can show Himself strong. My King, today I want to make you stand up and receive the applause of my heart. I want to be like Stephen where in the midst of trial and persecution, He says, “Look, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand!” Stephen was full of the Holy Spirit and looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God with Jesus standing there at the right hand of God. For he stands beside the needy, ready to save them from those who condemn them. With my mouth I will thank the LORD profusely; I will praise Him in the presence of many. I must keep the LORD at my right hand, so He can continue to stand in and be the strength of my life. The right hand is symbolic of ruler-ship, authority, sovereignty, blessing, and strength in Scripture. We see this in separating the sheep from the goats at the judgment as Jesus said “Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Being on the right side is critical to our eternal destiny and lethal to those on the left. For all who trust in Christ, they will be placed on the right hand side of Christ because they will have imputed to them the very righteousness of the Son of God. You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right side of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. LORD, your worthy of keeping my mind and heart focused on you. I am filled with your Holy Spirit and I know you are standing up in favor for your servant. I thank you Jesus for always standing up for me when I do not deserve it.
