Oh To Be Wise Meditations
A host always serves the best wine first. Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But the LORD has kept the best even until last! Just when you think God is done blessing you, he surprises you with more better and lasting advantages. He provides wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil that makes his face to shine, and bread that sustains his heart. Yes, wine that makes people feel so good, and so they can have oil to make their faces shine, as well as food that sustains people's lives. Give strong drink to him who is perishing, And wine to him whose life is bitter. Those who are perishing wanted what was the best wine first, which is the natural things the LORD freely provides to all. But those things do not last and makes bitter the soul that was very plentiful. The wine of this world cannot bring satisfaction to the soul, it only pleases the empty stomach. The LORD provides a fresh wine that tastes wonderful now fulfilling the soul. Also as you stay in relationship with Jesus the wine gets sweeter than ever before. You will say, The LORD has saved his best for last! This because you brought the first fruits of repentance to the soil of your heart, which is the house of the LORD your God. And now your vats have overflowed with new spirit and wine because with the LORD the best has yet to come. Wake up, you drunkards, and weep; wail, all you drinkers of earthly sustenance and wine. All the grapes are ruined, and all your sweet wine is gone. You did not want God, but only the things he can provide you. Not wanting The Son and fellowship of Holy Spirit which has the power to save your life. Jesus wants to fill your heart with new wine and not just earthen gain. Remember God in all your blessings, for that is the true elixir, the sweet nectar of everlasting sweet life and wine.
