Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. For this reason Christ died and returned to life, so that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. What the enemy thought he buried in the grave actually planted. Think about it. For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. He was hated and rejected; his life was filled with sorrow and terrible suffering. No one wanted to look at him. We despised him and said, "He is a nobody!" He suffered and endured great pain for us, but we thought his suffering was punishment from God. But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. He was arrested and sentenced and led off to die, and no one cared about his fate. He was put to death for the sins of our people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. What the LORD has planted no one can uproot. In Christ's death the roots of spirit and life spread to all humanity. Jesus has planted the incorruptible seed in the hearts of many. They are truly the salt of the earth and the light of the world. A planting of the LORD bringing glory to God in abundance, one changed life and renewed life at a time. Jesus Is the True Seed of Multiplication.
