Oh To Be Wise Meditations

This is pure stream that flows from God every morning and every day into the muddy desires of this world. It gets murky and fifthly as we walk by faith on this earth. But the river of God makes glad the living temples of humanity, refreshing the soul and cleansing the pallet of wicked thoughts and desires. Our actions and words can be made clean by the Living Word. Jesus poured out his blood on the Cross so that the Holy Spirit could be poured out on sinful man. He made the church holy by the power of his word, and he made it pure by washing it with water. The Spirit that gave life to the first Adam could not strive with his offspring. Their wellspring had become polluted with all kinds of wicked desires. Jesus came in the likeness of sinful man and condemned sin in the flesh. Yes, He stomped the evil serpent while being bitten with death itself. But death could not contain the mighty river that flows from the throne of God! The floodgates of righteousness bursted out into a dry and weary world. When the tomb was opened Jesus stepped out with new life, new spirit for humanity to live from, not just to survive but to thrive. Even in a world that has and is in judgment, God wants us to experience eternal life even in death. I compare it to the age old analogy of throwing seashells in the water. There are so many and is it even really worth it to do it? Jesus says its worth it. His love is better than life, and it will take eternity to truly know this. Let us start now tapping into the Spirit of Life that is in us and around us. The world is being made new through death, and in the end the river of God will cover the earth forevermore.
