Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Death's grip on us is too strong to resist. The Spirit of God cannot strive with the spirit of man, their hearts are the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. People's heart grow callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and God would heal them. How you say? Through the very thing that is destroying them, sin and death. There is hope of eternal life in Jesus the true vine for all humanity. On the Cross Jesus became a tree of life for us. Allowing our old way of being human to die and new life to begin to graft in. In death Jesus laid the seed down for new creation. Making all things new through his death, so are we made new through death of self and eventually physical death. Jesus said he is the vine and we are his branches. We are invited to become apart of this new tree of life that comes from Christ. Producing fruit even now so that his life and love can spread through us, to others. This process begins only through the acceptance of death and its curse. Realizing that we have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Though we will eventually succumb to deaths grip in this life. It is only a stepping stone of reversing the curse that was demolished by Christ on the Cross. Knowing that in physical death we will see life, and life more abundant. Our mortal bodies hold the seed of transformation and new life. And its by faith in Jesus we unlock its power and experience eternal life forevermore.
