Oh To Be Wise Meditations
The fiercest of spiritual battles is found in intercessory prayer and God calls all Christians to be intercessors. This is not for the privileged of believers, it is something we all need to grow in maturing in our faith. And what is intercessor prayer? The act of praying on behalf of others not for our own glory but seeking God's glory in it. A real humbling way of thinking less about self and more about others in their trials and tribulations. Jesus model is life and prayers for us and we are to follow his pattern through the gift of Holy Spirit in our lives. Here's a prayer I found in the book of Philippians of Paul to the church. I think its a great example of what we can be praying for, for each other: God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus. I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
