And when you pray. Don't be like those show-offs who love to stand up and pray on the street corners. They do this just to look good. I can assure you that they already have their reward. Our prayers need to be humble but while having confident assurance in Gods character. Too much pride will destroy you. Even in our prayers we can have a haughty spirit thinking we can force God's hand. Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud and arrogant spirit. I believe that there are a lot spoiled children of God that need his discipline. I know because I am constantly one of them and need God to keep in line with his word.
