Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Good people apologize for what they have done. So it is a good thing to admit your wrongdoings. But most people don't just want am I'm sorry, they want actual repentance. Wanting to see a change at least in behavior, maybe even a restitution. That is the difference between good and great. Great men and women are those who try to correct their mistakes as much as humanly possible. While we should always ask for forgiveness we need to reflect that clearly through repentance. Some people though will never honor all you have done to show true repentance. And that's ok, we are human and in need of not only each others grace, but also Gods grace. Amazing how God can forgive our sins and not hold them against, even while we were yet sinners. Its somewhere in the depths of the ocean of grace and mercy. Think about this though. The only remnant we will have of our past lives in heaven is the nails scars from Jesus. Meaning He doesn't want us to forget what salvations cost was. In heaven, we will cry out we have seen the LORD! I see in his hands the imprints of the nails, and the scars on his side. I will remember the works of the LORD. Yes, I will remember the amazing things you did long ago! So do not let guilt and shame rob you of the fruits of repentance. Though sinners are marked from birth, it does not have to define us. Respect everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear God, and respect the king. For God is pleased when, conscious of his will, you patiently endure unjust treatment. For what credit is there if you sin and are punished, and you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer, if you endure it, this brings favor with God. May God help us have favor Him and with our fellow man.
