Oh To Be Wise Meditations

The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders also mocked Jesus. “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him! That is the question we are faced with daily. We can preach and teach the Gospel all day long but are we actively living it out in our own lives. The religious leaders wanted to see a sign or miracle to prove Jesus was the Son of God, they failed to realize the Righteousness of Christ. Could it be we believe in God but not enough to save ourselves. Be careful that our righteousness does not come from fifthly rags but from relationship with Jesus. Its very easy to demand a sign or miracle from God to prove our salvation is real. The best sign is the Cross for all believers to live from. And on that Cross we have been given much. Let us not after preaching to others become disqualified for the eternal prize of Christ. Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
