Oh To Be Wise Meditations

It matters what you think about God in your heart. Is He worthy of your affection and worship? Do you truly love his presence and his word? When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is? “Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.” Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. It matter what the disciples thought about him. It filled him with joy knowing that the Father had revealed who He was to them. LORD Jesus, I see you high and lifted up, above all my problems and tribulations. You are the most important thing in my life. I want to honor you and respect your every word. I think your so awesome in every way. I would love to be a fly on the wall in your chambers. You fascinate me and intrigue with your love and wisdom. Good people do good things because of the good in their hearts, but bad people do bad things because of the evil in their hearts. Your words show what is in your heart. I need more of you in my heart so that I can produce the fruit of your righteousness. Amen. So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
