Oh To Be Wise Meditations

The grapevine is dried up, and the fig tree is withered; the pomegranate, palm, and apple—all the trees of the orchard—are withered. Surely the joy of mankind has dried up. Despair, you farmers, wail, you vine growers; grieve for the wheat and the barley, because the harvest of the field is destroyed. The fields are ruined, the land is stripped bare. The grain is destroyed, the grapes have shriveled, and the olive oil is gone. When Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden of the Eden. It must have felt like these words above. The tree of life mankind was connected to was now cut off from. The fresh fruit of life would not grow in the branches of humanity. They would slowly wither and die, and human life would be extinct in sin and death. Praise God in Christ we have been grafted in through the Cross of Calvary. Connected to the true Vine again like in Eden. Only this time through the blood of Jesus, the second and last Adam. We are spiritual farmers looking every day to grow a spiritual harvest. Eternity is in our hearts and we hope for a better future. Rejoice O Christian for new life has come. Like the grafting of an apple tree, we are grafted to Christ. Soon to produce the harvest of eternal life. Full of Holy Spirit and might, we can be a branch that bears much fruit for the Kingdom. Sin as been destroyed, death is shriveled, and the threat of evil is gone. The Spirit is flourishing, the joy is blooming, and the oil of gladness fills the fields of man.
