Oh To Be Wise Meditations
All you have is scripture and that's enough. There are so many questions about life that we will have to wait till the other side of heaven. And not just inescapable chance or providence. But things of scripture that we will have rely on. That is what scripture is for, to help us make sense out of this sinful world. Obviously everything in context, but all of our faith should be founded on the written word of God. But we lack inspiration when we look at the word of God as a Pharisee. We need the Living Word himself to make sense of the written word we have in this world. There is a common sense that God gives to those who rely Christ. So many people read the word of God with blinders on, with a veil that only in Christ can be torn away. The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words that Jesus has spoken to us are spirit and life. They need to be spiritually discerned and not just intellectual understood. Hold on to instruction; do not let go. Guard it, for it is your life. Through our dedication to the written word God will inspire the spirit of it. So many people do it backwards. Go the spirit and then the written. If we can keep everything in context we are the better for it. There is nothing like prophesying though. Such a great gift that all believers should desire. When the written word stirs the soul so much the Living Word wants to speak through a humbled soul.
