Oh To Be Wise Meditations

LORD, I know you want to do so much through me. The question is though if I am willing to suffer. Nothing about growing in faith and holiness is easy. Like Paul, you must show us how much we must suffer. And not in a weird self deprecating way, but in pure and honest way. Christ life on earth was a life of suffering. He came and lived among us, and felt our pain. He is awesome in that way because He is our great intercessor between God and man. I see one way that is the straight and narrow. There is no off paths or detours, the way to Heaven is through the path that Jesus has carved for us. There are few that find, the gate to life is very narrow. The road that leads there is so hard to follow that only a few people find it. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil. I see the path to Golgotha and see bloody steps on the way there. Jesus has lead the way for us to carry our Cross. There will be pain, there will be suffering, but there will be joy in the morning. Yes, joy in the morning because the stone was rolled away and new life has begun! So be careful to do as the LORD your God has commanded you; you are not to turn aside to the right or to the left. Jesus is our straight and narrow, pattern your life after him and each step to follow. The cross we carry will be heavy at times, remember Christ bore all things on his shoulders for you. The cross may slip out of your hands and you may fall at times. Remember, Jesus is making all things new, be strengthened to your feet because of his mercy. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Come child of God, the LORD wants to do so much through you.
