Oh To Be Wise Meditations

I love the LORD. Yes, I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him. There is always hope. There is always, therefore, hope for you. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. If our hope in Christ is good only for this life, we are worse off than anyone else. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. When the wicked die, their hopes die with them, for they rely on their own feeble strength. Trouble goes right past the LORD's people and strikes the wicked.
