Oh To Be Wise Meditations

A person who turns his back on God is a fool. God looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! Even as fools walk along the road, they lack sense and show everyone how stupid they are. The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left. A wise person will pursue learning righteousness and listen to the wise counsel of the LORD. It is safer to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than to confront a fool caught in foolishness. Evil will never leave the house of one who pays back evil for good. Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? Turn towards God in Christ Jesus and be known by Him. The true way to purpose, meaning and eternal life. You would be a fool to turn down such a gift of redemption and salvation.
