Oh To Be Wise Meditations

I tell you for certain that when you were a young man, you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will hold out your hands. Then others will wrap your belt around you and lead you where you don't want to go. Jesus said this to Peter to show him what kind of death he would glorify God. Then Jesus told him, “Follow me.” LORD, prepare our hearts and help us to come to terms with trials and tribulations to come. There will be things we are forced to deal beyond our control, give us the strength to go through it and follow you. That is the key with anything we are facing and will face is to keep on following you. You will make a way where there seems to be no way. Corrupt people walk a thorny, treacherous road; whoever values life will avoid it. Yes, if you love your life, stay away from the traps that catch the wicked along the way. The righteous path, Christ has laid the foundation already. It will involve pain and suffering and a breaking of your own will. Submission to God needs to be happening daily in our lives, if not, we will hold on to our selfish pride that leads to destruction. Break me LORD, break my fears, break my chains of doubt and nominal safety. Help me to trust in your promises and not fret back in fear. I believe but strengthen me in my unbelief when fears and troubles come. Make me ready Holy Spirit to glorify Jesus when that day comes.
