Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Then Moses said to the people, “Commemorate this day, the day you came out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, because the LORD brought you out of it with a mighty hand. Eat nothing containing yeast. The Israelites were to never forget how the LORD had saved them. They had been slaves in Egypt but the LORD had made them free. By his great power, he had defeated the Egyptians and their gods. And he had brought his people out of Egypt. On the night before and on that day they had not eaten bread with yeast. They must have the feast when they eat bread without yeast each year. That would help them to remember. Also The LORD spoke to Moses. You must give to me the first son who is born in every family’, he said. ‘The first son of every Israelite mother belongs to me. Also the first animal that is born to its mother belongs to me.’ I see Gods heart in this as well. Israel was to give there firstborn to service to God after what He took from Egypt in taking there firstborn away. Nothing is wasted to God even in judgment. We are to remember everything and give God reign over our hearts and lives. Jesus gave his life on the Cross so that we would live for Him the rest of our lives. Daily we should honor God by being living sacrifices. Praise God for his courage and bravery. On this Memorial Day let’s remember those who gave there lives for our country. And pray Gods comfort over those who have lost and are experiencing grief. Have mercy on us LORD. Let the Holy Spirit settle on our hearts as yeast today causing our hearts to rise to you in worship and praise. Thank you for saving us from slavery to sin and freeing us from guilt and condemnation.
