Oh To Be Wise Meditations

To have no conscious is to suffer in the wrath of God. God removes his presence and madness ensues. People in a society begin to lose what their right hand is and what their left hand is. The pleasing of the flesh consumes them and they are subject to every wicked desire that can be drummed up. Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. When we lose Gods presence in our lives we become hypocrites. We accuse others of doing wrong. But there is no excuse for what we do. When we judge others, we condemn ourselves, because we are guilty of doing the very same things. For this reason God will send a powerful delusion so that we believe a lie, in order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe the truth about their sin, and the need for salvation through Christ, but instead took pleasure in unrighteousness. So we sear our conscious to the point we say we don't need God at all. We desperately need the love of Christ in our hearts so we can rejoice in the truth and not fall away with this world. This world is passing away but the Christian is being renewed daily. Its due time we hold on to the mystery of our faith and a good conscience. So many have rejected and shipwrecked their faith leaving them with a guilty judgment looming over them. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. That's how you keep a clear conscience before God and man.
