Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Virginity is precious and sacred. But in the name of sexual freedom we give it away so freely in our society. There is something so honest and so pure about virginity. A beauty within kept safely for awakened love in marriage. I think of virginity as logs about to be thrown into the consuming fire sex. Virgin logs are still covered in lighter fuel and have not lost that fiery passion and innocence. The logs have not been burned and are strong and sturdy. Oh the wonder of innocence and the pain when it is lost by sin! Those who have given their virginity away little by little have become dry wood on the strong fire of sexual desires. Losing that natural lighter fuel covering from having so many partners makes sex all about the fire instead of the log itself. Sex was meant to be a spiritual experience of being truly known. But now it’s become a slave spirit and a fleshly need like basic food and water. God help future generations see the value of sexual purity. It’s a fire that burns so right when experienced in the holy bond of marriage. Outside of it you end up with a dry spirit that is always chasing the fire that it could of been had you waited to awaken love. Think about a soul pure and unblemished by the world. God in Christ wants to make our hearts and minds pure again. Christ's loves the church and He gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church, for we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. ”This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. Let us offer our bodies as living and pure sacrifices for God to pour his love through us and to others. Spiritual virgins made clean by the blood of Christ and washed by the Living Word. A pure and holy devotion to keep oneself unspotted from the world. Stay chaste my friend by living and Praying in the Spirit at all times.
