Oh To Be Wise Meditations

God alone holds the secrets of life. It is humbling but comforting to recognize that God alone truly understands the universe and its meaning. No human has mastered wisdom, nor have they attained to the knowledge of the Holy One. Has anyone gone up to heaven and come back down? Has anyone grabbed hold of the wind? Has anyone wrapped up the sea or marked out boundaries for the earth? If you know of any who have done such things, then tell me their names and their children's names. No one has gone up to heaven except the Son of Man, who came down from there. He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and I repeat is greater than anyone else. He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! The one who has accepted his testimony has affirmed that God is true. The Son was sent to speak God's message, and he has been given the full power of God's Spirit. The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment. Jesus rules above all heavenly rulers, authorities, powers, and lords; he has a title superior to all titles of authority in this world and in the next. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. In Christ the mystery is being revealed, listen to Him now.
