Oh To Be Wise Meditations

An evil person is like a woman about to give birth to a hateful, deceitful, and rebellious child. See how wicked people think up evil; they plan trouble and practice deception. They dig a deep pit to trap others, then fall into it themselves. Lord, let the wicked fall together into their own nets, while I pass by. May ruin befall them by surprise; may the net they hid ensnare them; may they fall into their own destruction. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. Don't blame God when you are tempted! God cannot be tempted by evil, and he doesn't use evil to tempt others. God has decided to give us life through the word of truth to make us his most important creatures. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. As the Scriptures say, “People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you. Jesus is the living word of truth that is renewing us daily, while the wicked are perishing by sin and death.
