Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Fill yourself. The dazzling light of the LORD's presence rose up from the creatures and moved to the entrance of the Temple. Then the cloud filled the Temple, and the courtyard was blazing with the light. This is vision Ezekiel had of the Temple and all I can think about is LORD fill me with your awesome presence. Remember the time when Jesus healed the leper? The Scripture says that He was filled with compassion. Imagine when the LORD gets filled how awesome that must be, the power and the virtue that flows from Christ. God is a filler and He loves to fill things to the brim, He is not cheap with His servings. Jesus when asked to refill the wine at the a wedding party filled it to the brim. He loves to fill his people with the fruit of righteousness. The Jews believed that to touch certain things made people unclean inside their hearts and spirits. So they washed their hands before and during a meal to make themselves clean again. Also they washed their feet before they entered a house. Those jars that Jesus filled to the brim were used for ceremonial cleaning. I think its a great picture how Christ has canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. We were dead because of our sins and our sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made us alive with Jesus forgiving us of all our sins. We are like those jars that were once ceremonially unclean before God but now we have been cleansed by Christ's blood. New creations able to hold the presence of Holy Spirit even in such frail jars of clay. Praise God, the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. All things that God wants to fill us with if only we would allow Him in our lives. Christ has removed the barrier of sin, so lets be filled with Holy Spirit continually. A full belly will not satisfy as a full spirit of Christ righteousness.
