Oh To Be Wise Meditations

For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him! You come to the help of those who gladly do right, who remember your ways. But if we continue to sin against you, will you not be angry? How then can we be saved? We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind. No one turns to you in prayer; no one goes to you for help. You have hidden yourself from us and have abandoned us because of our sins. And yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand. Do not be angry beyond measure, LORD; do not remember our sins forever. Oh, look on us, we pray, for we are all your people. Your hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding to learn Your commandments. The LORD will fulfill His purpose in me. O LORD, Your loving devotion endures forever--do not abandon the works of Your hands. Faith is the gift you have given to me in Christ. I can be faithful and have a clear conscience. Some people have made a mess of their faith because they didn't listen to their consciences. We must keep hold of the deep truths, the mystery of our the faith with a clear conscience. Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory. Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead. God's anger is still upon those who reject grace and continue in sin's rebellion. But He wants also to further the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness.

Will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He continue to defer their help? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”
