Proverbs of 39 yr old man
Love is discipline. Know in your heart that just as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you. Sometimes love can kill people. Sometimes you love your child so much and you give them everything. They grow up stunted and not maturing in learning how to care for themselves. It can't always be there way, and it can't always be our way with the LORD. We must humble ourselves and accept his word and do it his way. Don’t fail to discipline your children. The rod of punishment won’t kill them. They need to learn how to live. Think about this: Physical discipline may well save them from death! Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them. We need to teach our children and be an example of the life and godliness God in Christ has provided for us. For He has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. Those He loves He rebukes and disciplines. So be earnest and repent. We have been given the gift of the Spirit of Christ so that we can become true sons of God. Don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. The world wants to coddle you with sin and keep you in bondage to its deadly desires. But the LORD wants to teach us discipline and give us the victory over sin and destruction. Our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. It is never fun to be corrected. In fact, at the time it is always painful. But if we learn to obey by being corrected, we will do right and live at peace. May our children learn to live at peace and do what is right before the LORD.
