Proverbs of a 37 yr old man

The Disciplined Heart. If you have died with Christ to the world's way of doing things, why do you let others tell you how to live? It is as though you were still under the world's influence. Not all rules are bad, but beware of false teachers. Rules may control what people do, though man made rules cannot control a person's feelings or thoughts. Rules deal with outer behavior. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence. Refuse profane and silly fables, rather train yourself to godliness. For bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. Jesus makes people free because he stripes off their old nature. Is it not the Lord that teaches understanding and knowledge? Live like the Lord Jesus Christ did and forget about satisfying the desires of your sinful nature. A new person created to be like God, truly righteous and holy. An undisciplined heart will die, led astray by their own great folly. Blessed is the one whom God corrects; do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin. Our ultimate teacher is the Spirit of Christ and He will train in us the disciplined heart. The anointing you received from Christ lives in you. You don't need anyone to teach you something else. Instead, the Holy Spirit teaches you about everything. His anointing is true and contains no lie. So live in Christ as he taught you to do. Remain in fellowship with Christ, abiding in Him. The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you oh child of faith.
