Proverbs of a 37 yr old man
I hate the feeling of powerlessness. Sin wants to rule over us and control even our very thinking. This is why we must strive for mastery. Strive for complete victory and not settle for superficial joy in our lives. God has given us power and love so that we can operate from a sound mind. What the Law could not do, because human nature was weak, God did. He condemned sin in human nature by sending his own Son, who came with a nature like our sinful nature, to do away with sin. He did this, so that we would do what the Law commands by obeying the Spirit instead of our own desires. Our desires make us sin, and when sin is finished with us, it leaves us dead. But our power comes from obeying the Spirit of Christ. We can do all things through Jesus Christ our LORD. With His power in us not only can we barely escape our sins, but we can have great overwhelming victory in our lives. We can have power not like the worldly who always ask amiss. But have real power that makes us more productive and useful because were growing in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
