Why do we tell lies? Well, to avoid punishment. To avoid pain and shame, or to protect our integrity. Also we lie to get our own way, to make sure we get ahead of someone. We even lie and convince ourselves things are true. Now, why do we tell the truth? Well, the only reason to tell the truth is to honor God and his word. From this attitude you will take accountable for your actions. You will accept the pain and the shame, and let God be your integrity. When we tell the truth we may give up our own way. Others may get ahead of you when standing on the truth. As Christians we have to be careful not to live a lie. Living in sin leaves a delusion so strong that you start to believes Gods truths are lies, and lies are truths. The truth of Gods word is what we should live for. It is a light that this world has never understood. Tell the truth of the Gospel, better yet honor by living it out.
