Proverbs of a 38 yr old man
You have marked me. Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him. And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you. There is no one else that I can go to! Your words give eternal life. You cut me so deep I can't help but look to you for healing and comfort. Jesus, you are the Living Word. You are alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, you penetrate even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; judging the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. I hear you say to us: With all your hearts, keep the agreement I made with you. But if you are stubborn and keep on sinning, my anger will burn like a fire that cannot be put out. Therefore, change your hearts and stop being stubborn. The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live. Let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
