Lung Transplant. I never thought that this was possible but it is this day and age. Reading some articles about lung transplant and saw some of these statistics. 83 people out of 100 live for 1 year after a lung transplant. 55 people our of 100 live for 5 years after a lung transplant. If you are going to receive a lung from an organ donor who has died (cadaver), you will be placed on a waiting list of the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS.) The average person waits around two years for a single lung transplant, and as long as three years for two lungs. Breathing is the very essence of life, without it we are surely dead. But there is a spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding. Is that not how faith works in our lives? Anyone who doesn't breathe is dead, and faith that doesn't do anything is just as dead! In Christ we have been given a new spirit and life. Our hearts and minds are able to breathe the breath of heaven as it renews us daily like fresh oxygen to the soul. The fleshly spirit we lived from were spiritual lungs that were failing us, leaving us in sin and death. But Jesus breathed in us through the power of his resurrection a fresh wind that blows from heaven and into our hearts. What an amazing thought that when we die in this body our next breath will be the breath of heaven. For now we live maybe seventy, eighty, or one hundred and twenty years, struggling to keep our breath in this life. God sustains us even in our fragility and sin, but all humanity faces the lose of oxygen and death. Receive the Spirit of Christ today, the Mighty Breath of Heaven into your spiritual lungs. Even though one day your physical lungs will fail you. Your spiritual lungs, your new heart and spirit within you will breath you into the next life with our God and Savior. The Great Transplanter Himself Jesus said, who ever believes in me will never die, do you believe this? You will breath again and hear your King say to you, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. You were meant to live again. Say this: The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
