Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
“Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. There are other Christians that don't believe the same way you do. Perhaps they are off in their doctrine about certain things. However, what unites us all is our belief that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and that we have authority in His name because we have a relationship with Him. Stay with me: Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come. Many people have left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us. But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit, and all of you know the truth. Jesus once said, "Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Notice that God will allow His Will and Purpose to be done even with believers that will eventually give up there faith and turned away from the Gospel. The best way to explain this is with the parable of the Ten Virgins. Ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him! Notice that all the virgins feel asleep but only those who had the precious oil were able to be at the wedding banquet door when it opened. It is same for believers who do great and marvelous things for the LORD. If you are not pursuing relationship daily with Christ you will run empty of the precious oil of Holy Spirit. Quenching his power in your life to save you from sin and destruction. For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened, those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come, and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame. We all fall asleep and grow weary as virgins in Christ. But will we be found on that day, that Midnight hour, with the precious oil in our lamps waiting for Jesus to take us home with Him? Sadly, there will be many who did greater things but still fell away because they had not stored enough oil of relationship with the Spirit of Christ. For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. God's kingdom is not just talk, it is power.
