Real victory over sin comes through relationship and not you biting your lip and forcing spiritual fruit. Do not use the carnal, the flesh to bring about the spiritual. Don’t accomplish by works that which was supposed to be accomplished by faith. It is not by force nor by strength, but my Spirit, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. You need more of Holy Spirit in your life and not more of your external works to produce righteousness in you. This is why anger does not produce the righteousness of God. It can’t. Your gut, your grit is for the discipline of your body. To keep under control as far as humanly possible the flesh. But your spirit cannot be tamed by your flesh. You can do all the good deeds and physical labor you want. But the fire that quenches evil within your midst, within your very soul is the all consuming fire of Christ in you the hope of glory. You need Gods presence like you need your next breath. Spend more time in prayer, more time in the word, more time in fellowship with other believers confessing and being healed. Soon you will see the peaceable fruit of righteousness bear fruit in your life. Nothing you did, but what God did. Which is easier for you because you don’t have to fake it to make it. You are covered by Gods presence and all you did was spend time with your Heavenly Father. Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is so good, and by raising Jesus from death, he has given us new life and a hope that lives on. God has something stored up for you in heaven, where it will never decay or be ruined or disappear. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold, though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
