Proverbs of a 40 yr. old man
Coming Home. We are all on our way back home to our Heavenly Father. We were lost in sin and in the ways of this world. God in Christ gave us the gift of salvation by His blood, and we now have the Holy Spirit in us as a guarantee of the eternal things to come. The Spirit of Christ is our true compass North to our home in Heaven. We were on the selfish road that leads to destruction and but made a U-turn in repentance towards God. Toiling in the pig pen of sin Jesus gave us the strength to come up out of the sins that so easily entangle us. Back to our senses and realizing our miserable condition we are convicted to go Home back to the Father. In Father’s house there are many rooms and Jesus has gone to prepare a place for you and for me. Away from this wicked world that is not our home. Dear believer in Jesus, don't get lost on your way back home. Many have strayed from the faith after first believing. If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened, those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come. And who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame. Jesus is the way the truth and life. He will lead us home with our Heavenly Father already meeting us on the straight path of righteousness. OH LORD, my steps have stayed on your path; I have not wavered from following you. Although my spirit grows faint within me, you know my way. I will not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. I'm coming home. I will stay on the narrow way towards the upward call of Christ. Walking in the ways of the good and keeping to the paths of the righteous.
