Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Contentment is not a gift. Jesus said that He offers living water that brings ultimate fulfillment, yet the world around us continues to seek and strive after every other form of satisfaction. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boastful pride of life tempt society today just as they tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. Sin is easily birthed and difficult to uproot. We need the power of the blood of Christ to kill our flesh and make us alive in the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit, found in Galatians 5:22-23, is made up of the following nine qualities or gifts: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. When the Spirit of Christ is bearing this spiritual fruit in your heart and life you are learning what real contentment is. This takes a lifetime of relationship with Jesus, knowing Him as Savior and LORD. Yes, that we may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings. We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God. To those who endure Jesus will give a crown of life. Amen. Contentment is so important to our walk of faith. This is not a gift that is just given to you and you have it. It's earned through the sweat, blood, and tears of sanctification. Like Jesus we learn obedience through the things we suffer. Able to say not my will but your will be done Oh God my Father. Amen. I am content with whatever I am dealt with because I believe God can raise even the dead! I will carry my Cross knowing the burden has been made light by Christ. I will bear the name of Jesus as a light before the open world. The Holy Spirit has renewed me and transformed me into the image of Christ. I no longer live but Jesus lives in me. The gifts of the Spirit are stirring within me and contentment has become my reward. My reward for me diligently seeking after Jesus, is all these things are added into me. In my contentment, praise God, I am in overflow! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Contentment is learned through the holy fire of Holy Spirit. He is the Spirit of Thanksgiving. His Fruit in our lives is a hundredfold and against such things there is no law. Meaning from contentment learned, we can spiritually mature in Christ to no end and forever.
Happy Thanksgiving 2023
